What's in the case and what isn't

Labour, and why it's a separate line

Staff book at a 4-hour minimum. Nobody travels to a venue, loads in, waits through a reception, fires 30 seconds of effect, and strikes for an hour of billing.

 

A regular tech day rate is $900 to $1,200. Where a job lands inside that depends on seniority, block length, and date. Setup and strike are normally inside the tech rate rather than billed on top.

 

A pyro licence holder on site is $900 to $2,500 for a half or full day, quoted separately from any permit package fee. Those are two different things and they get confused constantly: the package is paperwork, the licence holder is a person standing in the room with legal responsibility for the effect.

 

Nevada requires 2 people. One is the licence holder whose licence covers that machine type and that use, the other is a separate operator running the machines. Other states let one person hold both roles, which is a real cost difference between a Las Vegas job and the same job in a single-person state.

 

Delivery, deposits, and the cancellation schedule

Delivery is $150 in town and pickup is $150 in town. Outside the local radius it quotes per project against distance and crew time.

 

A damage deposit is required and scales with the rental value of what's going out. It's waivable by contract for established accounts, which is a negotiation rather than a default.

 

The renter carries rental equipment insurance. That's a condition of release, not a suggestion, and it's separate from whatever liability policy covers the event itself.
